What is VerixID?

VerixID is a mathematical witness for digital assets. It generates cryptographic proof of existence and integrity for any file version without uploading or storing the file itself. Your browser calculates a SHA-256 hash locally, and VerixID records that fingerprint along with an audit timestamp and an Ed25519 signature. The record can be independently verified at any time using a Record ID.

1. Submit File

Select a file from your device. Your browser calculates a mathematical fingerprint representing the file's exact contents directly on your machine — the original file never travels across the network.

Only this unique fingerprint is sent to VerixID to be recorded with a timestamp and digital signature. Once registered, you receive a Record ID (public reference) and an Ownership Key (private proof of ownership).

2. Verification

Verification on VerixID works by comparing a file's calculated fingerprint against records stored in the ledger. This process proves that a file existed at a specific time and hasn't undergone any alteration since.

Record ID — Public Verification

Enter a Record ID to check if a fingerprint exists on the ledger. The system displays the record's timestamp and cryptographic details, confirming the file version existed and has remained untouched since that point in time.

Ownership Key — Proof of Ownership

Provide your Ownership Key to mathematically prove registration rights. Only the holder of this secret key can prove that they were the original registrant of the fingerprint.

3. What Is Stored (Zero-Custody Architecture)

VerixID never stores, accesses, or views your original files. The entire hashing process happens locally on your device — only the resulting mathematical fingerprint is ever sent to our infrastructure.

There is zero possibility for the system to inspect or reconstruct your content. This is known as a Zero-Custody architecture — zero storage, zero content exposure risk.

The ledger only records:

Mathematical Fingerprint (Hash)

A unique 256-bit representation of your file. It contains zero raw file content and cannot be reverse-engineered to reconstruct the file. This string serves as the identifier recorded on the ledger.

Server Timestamp

An authoritative UTC timestamp from server nodes. It proves when the fingerprint was first received independently and cannot be altered once written.

Digital Signature

A cryptographic signature from VerixID confirming the record is authentic and issued directly by our network. This signature protects the record from tampering or forgery.

4. What Proof Means

VerixID proves that a specific version of a file existed at a given moment and has not changed since. This is proof rooted in mathematics, not trust in centralized entities.

5. Tamper Resistance & Security

VerixID combines cryptographic hashes, server timestamps, and digital signatures to guarantee absolute record integrity.

This multi-layer architecture ensures entries cannot be forged or altered:

SHA-256 Hashing

Due to collision resistance, forging a matching hash for different content is mathematically virtually impossible.

Ed25519 Digital Signatures

Validates that the record was officially generated by VerixID; any tampering immediately invalidates the signature.

Append-Only Immutable Ledger

Modifying a record requires falsifying the hash collision, cracking the signature, and altering ledger history — rendering retrofitted tampering practically impossible.

6. Accountless Architecture

VerixID requires no account creation, passwords, or personal registrations. Registration control is governed purely by the Ownership Key generated during registration.

Anyone can verify records using a Record ID.
Only holders of the Ownership Key can prove ownership rights.


By removing account dependencies and identity leaks, proof remains verifiable by anyone, anytime, indefinitely.

7. What VerixID Does Not Prove

VerixID does not verify author identity, legal IP ownership, or statement validity within a document.

VerixID strictly proves: That a specific version of a file existed at a given timestamp and has remained untampered ever since.

What is VerixID?

VerixID is a mathematical witness for digital assets. It generates cryptographic proof of existence and integrity for file versions without uploading or storing the original content.

Does VerixID store my files?

No. VerixID operates on a strict zero-custody framework. Your files are processed locally on your client machine to generate a cryptographic hash. Original files are never uploaded, saved, or transmitted to VerixID servers.

How does VerixID prove a file hasn't changed?

VerixID uses cryptographic hashing algorithms. If a file's content changes — even by a single character, space, or pixel — the calculated hash changes entirely. Comparing current file hashes against ledger records instantly confirms whether a file is intact or altered.

What does zero-custody mean?

Zero-custody means VerixID has zero access, control, or custody over your underlying files and sensitive assets. You maintain total control over your files and private keys. Even in the event of a server breach, your document content remains completely safe because it was never sent.

What is the difference between Record ID and Ownership Key?

Record ID: A public unique identifier certifying that a file hash was recorded at a specific timestamp. Anyone can use a Record ID to verify file existence.

Ownership Key: A private key that proves you were the original registrant of the file. This key is required if you decide to request an official COA for that Record ID.

Does VerixID use blockchain?

No. VerixID does not use blockchain technology; instead, it uses an Immutable Ledger architecture. Timestamps and fingerprints are cryptographically sealed, keeping record validation fast, cost-effective, and tamper-resistant.

Can VerixID prove who created a file?

VerixID proves who registered the file first and at what exact time — not original author identity. The holder of the Ownership Key holds the mathematical proof of that specific registration.

Will two identical files generate the same Record ID?

Yes — two byte-for-byte identical files produce the exact same fingerprint. VerixID only registers the initial entry; subsequent duplicate attempts are rejected. This is a deliberate security feature.

What happens if I lose my Ownership Key?

Keys are non-recoverable — VerixID does not store your key. Public verification using the Record ID remains available, but ownership can no longer be mathematically claimed. Keep your receipt and Key secure.

How long does my Record ID remain active?

Free Record IDs remain active for 1 year* for public verification. Anyone can verify document authenticity independently by calculating the file's SHA-256 hash and matching it against the ledger.

Can VerixID be used as legal evidence?

A VerixID record serves as strong technical evidence. For formal legal matters, our COA service issues certified documentation compliant with standard regulatory requirements.
